Responder Mobile Using Guide
Devices Tab

Resource Center Home

The Devices tab lists all features associated with the current incident. They are divided into groups: Electric Devices, Hazards, and Location Features. The features fall into the following categories based on model name assignments (refer to the Configuration Guide for model name assignment information). The sample data defines these categories as follows:

Electric devices include any features that are connected to the geometric network (e.g., transformer, fuse, service point, switch, etc.). Hazards indicate obstacles in the field that may be dangerous to crew workers and may be assigned to most features (e.g., broken pole, flaming transformer, downed wires, etc.). Location features generally include any features that are not connected to the network (e.g., poles).

Each time you click a feature in any of the tables, it is highlighted in the map display by flashing blue several times (if the feature is visible in the map extent).

Use the Add New and Edit Current buttons to modify or add features to each group.

If the crew has been assigned to a specific device on the incident only the device(s) to which the crew has been assigned will be visible in the field. It is possible that the crew may not see all devices on the incident if they are assigned to a specific device on an incident that has multiple devices.

A crew that has been assigned to a specific device may add another device to the incident. The newly added device will remain visible in the crew's incident until the incident is closed or the crew's work (on the assigned device) is complete. However, no crew will be automatically assigned to the new device when it is sent to the Enterprise. Even after the dispatcher assigns a crew to the new device, it will remain visible to the crew that created it.
