Fiber Manager Configuration Guide
Configure WDM Fiber Features

Version: 10.2.1c and 10.2.1c SP3

Resource Center Home

Modern optical communication networks utilize wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) techniques to expand the capacity of the network. Advanced Circuit Manager functionality, introduced with Fiber Manager 10.2.1a, allows you to create circuits in your Fiber Manager network specific to a particular wavelength, and to include fiber objects in as many circuits as necessary to represent the multiple logical paths that result from implementing wavelength multiplexing.

The basic steps for configuring WDM assume your geodatabase has minimal general ArcFM configuration (ArcFM configuration is required). A few of the steps below may be partially completed (some model names may be already created, etc.) in your geodatabase. However, it is important to ensure that everything is configured correctly before moving to the next step.

STEP 1: Create Domains

STEP 2: Create Tables

STEP 3: Add Model Names

STEP 4: Configure Tables

STEP 5: Create Relationships

STEP 6: Create Container Relationship Classes
