OASyS - Populate SCADA IDs

Version: 10.1

Resource Center Home

This step is performed in your geodatabase.

The SCADA ID value is used to map features in the GIS and OASyS. This value exists in OASyS, but not in the GIS. In this step you will need to manually populate the SCADA ID field on all SCADA control point features in the database. It is also necessary to identify the field that holds this value using a model name. Follow the steps below:

  1. In ArcCatalog, ensure the a field exists to hold the SCADA control ID (e.g., SCADAControlID) on the DynamicProtectiveDevice and Switch feature classes. This field should have the following properties:

    Data Type: Text

    Allow NULL Values: Yes

    Length: 20

  2. In ArcCatalog, ensure the SCADACONTROLID model name has been added to the appropriate field model name domain (e.g., Electric Field Model Name domain).
  3. Use the ArcFM Properties Manager to assign the SCADACONTROLID model name to a field on the DynamicProtectiveDevice and Switch feature classes. Assign this model name to the field that will contain the SCADA ID for the feature.
  4. For each feature that has a SCADA control point in OASyS, populate the SCADA control ID in this field. This is a manual process.
