In many cases, upgrading to a new version of Network Adapter means changes to the configuration files. Rather than force users to re-configure, Network Adapter provides a batch script. This script preserves your existing configuration files and appends changes that support new functionality, thus eliminating the need to manually re-configure after each new release.
After installing Network Adapter, double-click UpgradeNetworkAdapter.bat in the directory that corresponds to your release. The script will create a backup of your original file before performing the upgrade. If you are skipping releases, you must execute the batch scripts for each release between the one you started with and the one to which you're upgrading.
By default, the scripts are installed here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Miner and Miner\ArcFM Solution\Developer Resources\<current release> Upgrade Scripts. Batch scripts exist for the following releases. These scripts are necessary only if you plan to configure Network Adapter to export to DMS (using Multispeak 3.0 or CIM).
- 10.1: This script updates the version numbers in the configuration file to ensure it is compatible with the current release. (C:\Program Files (x86)\Miner and Miner\ArcFM Solution\Developer Resources\10.0.3 - 10.1.0 Upgrade Scripts)
- 10.0.3: This script updates the version numbers in the configuration file to ensure it is compatible with the current release. (C:\Program Files (x86)\Miner and Miner\ArcFM Solution\Developer Resources\10.0.2 - 10.0.3 Upgrade Scripts)
- 10.0.2: This script updates the version numbers in the configuration file to ensure it is compatible with the current release. (C:\Program Files (x86)\Miner and Miner\ArcFM Solution\Developer Resources\10.0.1 SP1 - 10.0.2 Upgrade Scripts)
- 10.0.1 SP1: This script updates the version numbers in the configuration file to ensure it is compatible with the current release. (C:\Program Files (x86)\Miner and Miner\ArcFM Solution\Developer Resources\9.3.1 SP1 - 10.0.1 SP1 Upgrade Scripts)
- 9.3.1 SP1: This script adds the necessary model names and pipeline rules to the configuration file to support voltage regulators. It also includes model names used in the MultiSpeak transformation (e.g., MEASUREDLENGTH, SUBSTATION, BAYID), and includes a pipeline rule that pulls feeder bays to the top of the XML document to support some older versions of DMS. Lastly, this script adds descriptive comments throughout the configuration file. (C:\Program Files\Miner and Miner\ArcFM Solution\Developer Resources\9.3.0 Rev2 - 9.3.1 SP1 Upgrade Scripts)
- 9.3 Rev2: This script is necessary only if you plan to configure Network Adapter to export to DMS (using MultiSpeak 3.0). (C:\Program Files\Miner and Miner\ArcFM Solution\Developer Resources\9.3.0 SP1 - 9.3.0 Rev2 Upgrade Scripts)
