Configuring Responder/Smart Grid
Assign Message Queue Permissions

Version: 10.1

Resource Center Home

The Responder Services user must have full permissions on the smartgrid.eventqueue and logservicequeue message queues. Follow the steps below to assign these permissions. These message queues will not be created until you start the Smart Grid services.

The smartgrid.eventqueue message queue is created as a transactional queue by default. You may delete smartgrid.eventqueue and create it as a non-transactional queue with the same name. Note that creating this as a non-transactional queue will increase performance but will be less fail-safe should the system fail.

  1. In Computer Management, expand Services and Applications > Message Queuing > Private Queues.
  2. Right-click smartgrid.eventqueue and select Properties.
  3. Choose the Security tab and click the Add button.
  4. In the "Enter the object names to select" field enter the domain and user name of the Responder Services user (e.g., domain\RxApp).
  5. Click OK.
  6. With the Responder Services user selected in the top field, click the checkbox in the Allow column for Full Control.

  1. Click OK.
  2. Repeat steps 3-8 for the logservicequeue.
