Configuring Responder/Smart Grid
Configure Web Services

Version: 10.1

Resource Center Home

The Smart Grid Integration Framework uses several web services to process AMI events. These services also provide access to the Configuration Manager which provides a single user interface to configure the windows services.

Service Name Description
Miner.Configuration.ConfigurationService Used by the Configuration Manager.
Miner.Configuration.Web Used by the Configuration Manager.
Miner.Smartgrid.EventService Receives CIM-formatted messages from AMI and passes them to the Event Processor windows service.
Miner.Smartgrid.StateService Takes the filtered messages from the Event Processor and places them in the state data store designated by the user.

Miner.Configuration.Web

Perform these next steps on Miner.Configuration.Web ONLY. This setting will require a user name/password when accessing the Configuration Manager. If you do not perform these steps, anyone can access Configuration Manager without a user name/password.

  1. In Computer Management, expand Services and Applications, and select Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
  2. In the Connections column, expand the node named after the local machine.
  3. Expand Sites > Default Web Site and select Miner.Configuration.Web.
  4. In the next column, double-click Authentication in the IIS section.
  5. By default Anonymous Authentication is enabled. Right-click the status and select Disable.
  6. Now you MUST enable another form of authentication. For example, right-click Basic Authentication and select Enable. This will prompt the user for his network user name/password when he attempts to access the Configuration Manager.
  7. Close Computer Management.
