The Map Tools toolbar provides tools that help the user navigate the map display.

Description |

This tool provides both pan and zoom functionality. Click and hold while dragging the cursor up and down to zoom in and out. Right-click and hold while dragging the cursor around the map to pan. |

Zooms the map display to a larger extent. |

Zooms the map display to a smaller extent. |
|
Zooms the map display to a larger extent by 25%. |
|
Zooms the map display to a smaller extent by 25%. |
|
Allows the user to move around the map display without changing the extent. |
|
Zooms the map display to include all features in the map. |
|
Moves the map display back to the previous display. |
|
Moves the map display forward to the next display. This button is enabled after you've clicked the Back Extent button. |
|
Allows the user to select features on the map. Selected features appear on the Selection tab and are highlighted on the map. |
|
Removes all features from the Selection tab. It does NOT remove features from the map. |

Click this button to zoom to the set of features that are currently selected. |

Use this tool to select graphic elements on the map. It will not select features. |
|
Use this tool to delete graphics from the map. First select the graphic elements you wish to delete using the Select Elements tool, then click the Delete Selected Graphic button. This tool will not delete features. |
The Measure tool lets you draw on the map to measure lines and areas. The ArcFM Viewer Measure tool wraps Esri's Measure tool and provides the same functionality. |

Use this tool to click a portion of the map and display information about features at that location. Feature information is displayed on the Identify Tool tab. |

Click this button to refresh the map display. |
The following tool does not appear on a toolbar by default. It must be added using the Customize menu.
