The Guys and Anchors frame is located on the Bisector Guy tab and the Dead End Guy tab. Use the Bisector Guy tab for bisector guys. The result values on this tab assume the pole has conductors hung on both sides and consider the wind as a factor. The results on the Dead End Guy tab assumes only one side of the pole has conductors and the other side requires guying for balance.
Use the Add Guy button to add guys to the display. You may modify existing guys by right-clicking a guy and selecting Guy Properties.

These values affect the following results fields in the Poles frame. The results fields in the Poles frame are described on the Poles page.
- Critical Buckling Load
- Actual Buckling Load
- Pole Top Deflection
The Guys and Anchors frame has several results fields that are impacted by adding, modifying, and removing anchors and guys.
- Total Pole Down Guy Capacity: This is the guy tension compared to the rated breaking strength for all pole down guys.
- Total Load on Pole Down Guys: The Total Load on Pole Down Guys for a bisector is equal to the Total Transverse Load on Pole as described in the Poles section. The Total Load on Pole Down Guys for a dead end is equal to the total conductor tension at the guyed structure.
- Total Span Guy Capacity: This is the guy tension compared to the rated breaking strength for all span guys.
- Total Load on Span Guys: The Total Load on Span Guys for a bisector is equal to the Total Transverse Load on Pole as described in the Poles section. The Total Load on Span Guys for a dead end is equal to the total conductor tension at the guyed structure.
- Total Stub Down Guy Capacity: This is the guy tension compared to the rated breaking strength for all stub down guys.
- Total Load on Stub Down Guys: The Total Load on Stub Down Guys for a bisector is equal to the Total Transverse Load on Pole as described in the Poles section. The Total Load on Stub Down Guys for a dead end is equal to the total conductor tension at the guyed structure.
Utility Tools
You may right-click any guy in the Guys and Anchors frame and select the following utility tools:
- Add Guy: Adds a guy to the display.
- Remove Guys: Takes the selected guy off of the list and adjusts the results values accordingly.
- Guy Properties: Modify the properties of an existing guy.
- Anchor Properties: Modify the properties of an existing anchor.
- Attach Guy(s) to Anchor: Allows the user to select the anchor to which the selected guy should be attached. Multiple guys may be assigned to a single anchor.
- Highlight Guy: If the guy has spatial representation on the map, this tool will highlight it. The guy must be in the display.
- Zoom To Guy: Zooms the map display to the selected guy (if it has spatial representation on the map).
