This tool allows you indicate a jumper on an existing confirmed/active incident. An incident may have multiple jumpers.

Quick Steps Add Jumper Right-click an electric incident. Select Add Jumper. Place the Jumper in ArcMap. Enter jumper information. Click OK. Watch the Demonstration.

Right-click a confirmed/active electric incident and select Add Jumper. In ArcMap, click a line feature. This line feature can contain one of the same phases as the line you connect the jumper to, such as A to A, B to BC, ABC to BC, etc. You can also connect lines of different phases, but one of those phases must be de-energized. You can press ESC to cancel placing the jumper before making the second click. If you want to place a jumper as a straight line continue to step 4. If you want place a jumper around a feature, continue to click on the map, placing vertices of the jumper as you go, then continue with step 4. Click the line feature to connect to the line that was first selected.

4. The Place Jumper dialog displays information about the jumper.  

   

5. Click the appropriate Jumper Phases to connect. You can connect:
   • An energized phase to a de-energized phase
   • A de-energized phase  to a de-energized phase
   • An energized phase to another energized phase (if they are of the same phase)
   At least one connection is required to place the jumper.
6. Enter the Name, Dispatcher and Crew Member for this jumper. All other information is optional. The Time Placed must be the current time or earlier. Responder does not allow the user to enter a future outage time.
   The Dispatcher and Crew fields are filtered to display only those that have access to the region (first click) in which the jumper resides, though any value can be entered manually by typing, rather than using the filtered drop-down lists.
7. Click OK on the Place Jumper dialog to add the jumper to the selected confirmed/active incident in Responder Explorer.

   Once you place a jumper on a confirmed incident, you cannot mark the incident as unconfirmed (unless you remove the jumper).
