Using Responder
Remove Jumper

Version: 10.2.1c and 10.2.1c SP3

Resource Center Home

Available in Responder Explorer.

You can remove jumpers associated with an incident on the Incidents tab.

Quick Steps

Remove Jumper

  1. Right-click jumper.
  2. Select Remove Jumper.
  3. Click Yes.
  1. Right-click a jumper and select Remove Jumper(s). A confirmation message appears.
You can also select multiple jumpers to remove by holding down CTRL as you click them.
  2. Click Yes to remove the jumper from the incident.

Removing a jumper indicates that the jumper was removed in the field (at the current time). To indicate a jumper never existed in the field, cancel the incident to which the jumper is assigned. For example:

Scenario A:

  1. An outage occurs at 10:00 PM.
  2. A jumper is placed to temporarily restore power to the loadpoints in Responder Explorer at 11:00 PM.
Current time of outage: 1 hour.
  3. The crew repairs the outage at 1:00 AM, and the dispatcher restores the incident in Responder Explorer at 1:00 AM.
  4. The jumper is 'removed' at 1:00 AM in the field and in Responder Explorer.
Total time of outage: 1 hour.
A removed jumper is archived. In addition, if you close an incident with an existing jumper, the effect on the jumper is the same as a 'removal' of the jumper at the time of close.

Scenario B:

  1. An outage occurs at 10:00 PM.
  2. A jumper is placed accidentally in Responder Explorer at 11:00 PM.
Current time of outage: 1 hour.
  3. The jumper is 'canceled' at 1:00 AM, because the crew indicated they did not use a jumper. The loadpoints revert to having an outage at the original outage time.
  4. The crew repairs the outage, and the dispatcher restores the incident in Responder Explorer at 1:00 AM.
Total time of outage: 3 hours.
Jumpers that are part of a canceled incident are not archived (unless all canceled incidents are archived as configured by your administrator).
