You may choose to use Designer or ArcFM Viewer for ArcGIS Engine on the enterprise. Most commonly, Designer is used. If you choose to use ArcFM Viewer, functionality is reduced (e.g., Mobile toolbar is not available).
- Create Work Request and Design: Open Workflow Manager and create a work request and design.
- Edit/Create Graphics: Graphics may be sent to the field (e.g., callout text box with notes) as part of the Mobile Graphics layer. Select Mobile Graphics from the Active Annotation Target field. Any graphics added will be included in the design sent to the field.
- Send Design: There are two options for sending the design to the Field. The first option is the easiest and most commonly used. 1) Use the Send Design task or button to select a user and send the design to the field. 2) Use the Send Design to Field task to submit the design to a field designer.
- Retrieve Designs from Field: (optional): If your administrator has configured Geodatabase Replication to automatically send and receive designs, this step is not necessary. Otherwise, execute the the Send/Receive Mobile Data task to receive data from the field. This final task requires a network connection.
- Open Design: Open Workflow Manager, select a design and use the Open Design button (or task) to view the design in Designer. If Mobile detects conflicting edits in the packet, it displays a Conflicts Report. Edits made to the packet (session or design) may be viewed using the Edit Log tool.
- Digitize Redline Graphics: This step is necessary only if the mobile packet includes redline graphics that have been placed as part of the Mobile Graphics layer (not as annotation). Place features to represent graphics placed in a redline design. The features exist within your current version and may be posted, while the graphics exist as part of the design and may not be posted.
- Reconcile and Post: When you have finished importing Mobile features and digitizing redline graphics, you may reconcile and post.
