ArcFM Server uses server-side objects to process requests from the client web applications. These pages discuss creating a Server Object Extension (SOE) and server-side objects in general. A custom SOE allows you to create customizations that use ArcFM Objects and ArcObjects.

If you have multiple ArcGIS server machines, ArcFM Server must be installed on each machine (this installs the necessary objects) and the custom SOE must be registered and enabled as well. All requests are made through ArcGIS for Server, which distributes the requests to the individual ArcGIS server machines for processing.
