How Water Tracing Works

ArcFM Water Trace Solvers provide a way to display the results of a variety of traces on the map or as the selected set. For example, you can find all the valves that need to be closed to stop water flow to an area defined by the user-placed edge flag as well as features that comprise the boundaries of a cathodic protection system. Because these queries may be crucial to a utility’s procedures in routine maintenance or an emergency, we have provided this chapter to explicitly link the decisions made by the administrator when configuring network features with what the user can expect to happen when traces are performed.
