Responder Mobile Configuration Guide
Test Communications

Resource Center Home

ArcFM Mobile provides a means to verify that all portions of the Mobile Services are communicating properly. To test your ArcFM Mobile communications, follow the steps outlined below.

  1. On the Mobile Server, ensure that MobileService is not running as a background process. If so, stop the service.
  2. Open a command prompt and point to the directory in which Miner.Responder.MobileService.exe is installed. By default, this executable is installed here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Miner and Miner\Responder\Server.
  3. At the command prompt enter Miner.Responder.MobileService.exe /debug and hit Enter.

  1. At the next prompt enter t and hit Enter.

  1. This displays communication information. If the tool encounters a problem, it logs the error and stops.

The following checks are made and return a Passed/Failed value.

Communication Check

Problems?

Responder Mobile Service

If this setting Fails, ensure you have started the Responder Mobile Service.

Sync Services Listener

The tool opens and tests a connection to the Mobile Services Sync Service. If this setting Fails, ensure you have the web service configured properly. You may need to restart IIS. Another test is to enter the URL in a web browser.

Responder Data Services

Responder Mobile requires at least one instance of Data Services. If this setting Fails, ensure you have started Responder Data Services.

Connection to SQLExpress

This tool also opens a connection to the SQLExpress database (named ResponderDatabase by default) and ensures the user running Mobile Services has permissions to execute the necessary operations (Reading, Writing, Updates and Deletes). If this setting Fails, you may need to set up the Responder Mobile tables or assign the proper permissions.
