ArcFM Desktop Developer Guide
Configure Network Adapter Database

Resource Center Home

Network Adapter creates for you NetworkAdapter.mdb and places this database at the following location: C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Miner and Miner\Network Adapter. This database must be configured using the following steps.

  1. First open ArcMap and perform an export to your analysis tool. This causes Network Adapter to create a new database, if one doesn't exist.
  2. Execute Load Flow Analysis. LoadFlow tables are created in NetworkAdapter.mdb.
  3. Execute Short Circuit Analysis. ShortCircuit tables are created in NetworkAdapter.mdb.
  4. Click the Get Load Case button to create a LoadCase_Transformer table in NetworkAdapter.mdb.
  5. Close ArcMap and open ArcCatalog.
  6. In ArcCatalog, browse to your Network Adapter database and select the database.
  7. Click Create ArcFM Solution System Tables on the ArcFM Solution toolbar (refer to the Configuring ArcFM Solution online help for more information).
  8. Click ArcFM Solution Object Converter and select Convert to ArcFM Objects (refer to the Configuring ArcFM Solution online help for more information).
  9. In ArcCatalog, right click the load case table (e.g., LoadCase_Transformer) and select ArcFM Properties Manager. Select the Object Info tab.
  10. Assign the ArcFM Update Network Adapter Table autoupdater to the On Feature Create, On Feature Update, and On Feature Delete events. Click OK.

A join must exist between the Transformer layer in your GIS and the LoadCase_Transformer table in the Network Adapter database. The Create Joins page discusses the procedures for creating these joins.
