Some considerations before beginning a Designer implementation:
- Designer requires the Basic ArcFM configuration. We recommend that you perform the actions listed on the Basic ArcFM Configuration page before continuing with your Designer implementation. Step-by-step procedures for performing these configurations are available in the Configuring ArcFM Solution online documentation.
- Determine a version structure. You will need to select a version to act as the parent of all versions as well as the version in which work request polygons are published. By default, these versions are set to SDE.Default
- Implement a work management system (WMS). Designer and Workflow Manager interact with a WMS to allow spatial designs to be edited on the enterprise geodatabase. Designer includes Workflow Manager which may be used in lieu of a WMS. This help file assumes Workflow Manager as the WMS and discusses how to implement it.
