Configuring Responder/Smart Grid
Modify Time Threshold

Version: 10.1

Resource Center Home

The machines that host the Responder server and clients will not always display the exact same time. These differing times may impact the processing of incidents.

The TimeThreshold setting allows you to set an acceptable time difference between the Responder server and client machines. If the times on these machines differ by less than the TimeThreshold, incident processing will not be impacted.

  1. Open Miner.Responder.DataServices.exe.config. By default, this file is installed here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Miner and Miner\Responder\Server.
  2. Look for the following XML:
    <add key="TimeThreshold" value="00:00:20" />
  1. Set the value to an acceptable time difference between the Responder server and client machines (hh:mm:ss). By default, this value is set to 20 seconds. If you remove this value from the configuration file, the default will be one second.
  2. Save and close Miner.Responder.DataServices.exe.config.
