Secondary Circuit Analysis is an electrical calculation which allows designers to easily perform "what-if" scenarios and determine which type of equipment will maximize the network's performance. Secondary Circuit Analysis helps designers calculate:
kVA Load: This calculation determines the amount of kVA demand a transformer will have for a given design.
Voltage Flicker: This calculation determines the amount voltage fluctuates briefly when a motor (such as an air conditioner) is started.
Voltage Drop: This calculation determines how much the voltage decreases through the transformer and along the secondary and service lines.
Fault Calculation: This calculation determines the amount of current that flows through a short circuit.
Secondary Circuit Analysis helps the designer ensure the proper equipment is used to maintain the proper voltage without over-installing and increasing costs.
In the example below, the Designer Engineering Analysis window depicts the service points connected to the transformer labeled B/37.5 on the map.
