Use Autotext Elements to add text elements (such as page number and date) that will be dynamically updated. This functionality is meant to provide developers with a framework to create customized autotext elements for users to add to the Layout view of ArcMap. ArcFM provides several sample autotext elements. Others may be added programmatically by a developer (see ArcFM Solution Resource Center).
