ArcFM Desktop Configuration Guide
Advanced Redliner

Resource Center Home

This implementation expands upon the Basic Redliner functionality. It offers the option of placing redline graphics as annotation. Graphics placed as annotation can be sent to the enterprise and posted to the geodatabase.

Required Licenses in the Field: Redliner Extension and ArcFM Viewer for ArcGIS Engine or ArcFM Viewer

Field Databases: Backdrop, Login (optional), Process Framework (e.g., Session Manager or Workflow Manager)

Perform the following steps to configure Advanced Redliner.

STEP 1: Set Up Directory Structure

Mobile Directory Permissions

Geodatabase Replication Directory Permissions

Update Replication Service Login

STEP 2: Configure Graphic Annotation

STEP 3: Create Backdrop Database

Create/Import Graphic Favorites  Do this step ONLY if you do not have a Login database

OPTIONAL: Create Login Database

The Login database is necessary only if you wish to provide the field user with user/system favorites. If you aren't using favorites, there's no need for the Login database. If you have no login database, graphic favorites can be imported into the Backdrop.

Create or Import Graphic Favorites

STEP 4: Create Session Manager Databases

Configure Enterprise Process Framework Database

Configure Field Process Framework Database

Step 5 includes how to create a Process Framework replica that sends/receives sessions and designs. Step 6 discusses how to set up the Mobile Synchronizer. You need only one of these methods. If you elect to use the Mobile Synchronizer for sending/receiving, then you may still want to review the Create Replicas step in case you wish to use Geodatabase Replication to maintain your backdrop database in the field.

STEP 5: Create Replicas

STEP 6: Set Up Mobile Synchronizer

Using Mobile Synchronizer

STEP 7: Deploy to Multiple Client Machines
