Configuring the ArcFM Solution Overview > ArcCatalog Tools > ArcFM Solution Toolbar > Fiber System Settings |
Use the Fiber System Settings button to set the default values for some Fiber Manager properties. The values set in the Fiber System Settings window will be the default settings for all users that connect to the database. However, if a user modifies a setting using the Fiber User Settings window in ArcMap, then that value will override the one set in Fiber System Settings (ArcCatalog).
The Fiber System Settings button does not appear on the ArcFM Solution toolbar by default; you may need to add it. Select a geodatabase in ArcCatalog to enable the Fiber System Settings button. It remains disabled on all other nodes.
Use X Style Tracing: Use this option to select X-style or Y-style tracing. The default value is Y-style tracing (option unchecked). Select the checkbox to enable X-style tracing. A full description of X-style and Y-style tracing is available in the Appendix.
Use Directional Tracing: Directional tracing allows the user to determine in which direction the trace travels. When this option is disabled, the trace will travel in all available directions. If directional tracing is enabled, then the trace will travel only in the direction defined by the user. A full description of directional tracing and how it interacts with X-style and Y-style tracing is available in the Appendix.
Splice Type: Use this field to determine which splice type is selected by default when the user opens the Connection Manager in ArcMap. This field works in conjunction with the Default A Loss and Default B Loss fields to provide default values for each splice type.
Default A/B Loss: Use this field to set the Default A Loss and Default B Loss values for each splice type. Select a value in the Splice Type field, set the Default A Loss and Default B Loss values, and click Apply.
Display Connection Manager Disconnect Warnings: When a user disconnects a particular feature (e.g., Backside Port) in the Connection Manager, he may be presented with a warning (if the SUPPORTSDISCONNECTWARNING model name has been properly assigned). Uncheck this option if you want to suppress the warning message.
