A fiber object represents a single glass strand within a fiber optic cable that is used to transmit light from one location to another. This is a required object of the data model.

Attributes (required fields in red):

FiberNumber: long integer - This is the number of the strand within the FiberOpticCable that is uniquely identified by the combination of the buffer tube color and the strand color.

Lessee: text - This is the name of the organization that is leasing a particular strand. If a strand is not being leased then this field should not be populated. The Fiber Lessee domain is assigned to this field.

ContractNumber: text - This is the identifier of the contract that leases the strand to another organization.

ModeType: text - This identifies whether the particular strand is a singlemode or a multimode fiber strand. The Fiber Strand Mode domain is assigned to this field.

Available: long integer - This field identifies whether a fiber is available to be leased or open for internal use. A fiber strand can be dark and still unavailable if it has been leased or reserved for another purpose. Each organization can determine the criteria for availability. The Fiber Availability Indicator domain is assigned to this field.

FiberColor: text - This is the color of the strand and can be configured to be any color. The Fiber Colors domain is assigned to this field.

FiberName: text - This is the color of the fiber strand. This field is set by values in the Fiber Color Names domain and can configured to be any color. The values in this domain can be expanded to include unconventional colors and stripes of any color.

ReservedFor: text - This field denotes an organization or purpose for which the fiber strand is being reserved. The Fiber Reserved For Entities domain is assigned to this field.

Status: text - This field is used to denote whether the strand is lit, dark or defective. The Fiber Status domain is assigned to this field.

GlassType: text - This value can be used to track the type of glass used in the FiberOpticCable. This field makes the assumption that all of the strands will be of the same type within a FiberOpticCable. The Fiber Glass Type domain is assigned to this field.

GlassGrade: text - This stores the grade of glass from which the fiber is made. The Fiber Glass Grade domain is assigned to this field.

RestorationPriority: text - This field marks the fiber strands that are the highest priority for restoration during an outage. The default value for fibers is “normal” and should be set as such in each fiber optic cable favorite. The Fiber Restoration Priority domain is assigned to this field.

GlobalID: GlobalID - This field contains a unique number (GUID) that is generated and maintained by ArcGIS. This value is used for all relationships in the ArcFM data model and is required for Fiber Manager to function properly.

FiberParent: GUID - This field contains the GlobalID of the parent object to the current object.

ThisFiberClassModelName: text - This field stores the class model name assigned to the feature class on which the field resides. It is used in conjunction with the FiberParentClassModelName field to determine the GlobalID that will be placed in the FiberParent field.

FiberParentClassModelName: text - This field stores the class model name assigned to the feature class that is the parent of the class on which the field resides. It is used in conjunction with the ThisFiberClassModelName field to determine the GlobalID that will be placed in the FiberParent field.

FiberChildClassModelName: text - This field stores the class model name of a child object to the object on which the field resides.

FiberCircuitGlobalID: GUID - Circuit Manager uses this field to store the GlobalID of the Circuit record stored in the F_Circuit table.
