Localization Notes

This page contains general notes to be aware of when localizing your ArcFM Solution product.

Domains: If you localize a domain that appears in a drop-down menu in the application, you will also need to localize the form on which that field appears to reflect the changes to the domain. For example, if you modify the Phase Designation domain to use XYZ instead of ABC, then you will need to localize any forms that use this domain in a field. If you do not localize the form to reflect XYZ rather than ABC, the ABC values will still appear in the form.

Matching Strings: In some instances particular strings must match other strings. This page lists those requirements.

In MMFeatTabRes409.dll, string #516, 'Features', must match string #187 in MMFavoritesEditorRes409.dll.
In MMLassoRes409.dll, do not translate strings 127 and 140.
In MMCSMTraceUIRes409.dll, string #100 must match string #104 in MMDuctQueryRes409.dll.
The strings in MMElectricTraceUIRes409.dll must match the strings in MMElecSolversRes409.dll as follows.

The strings in MMGasTraceUIRes409.dll must match the strings in MMGasWaterSolversRes409.dll as follows.

The strings in MMWaterTraceUIRes409.dll must match the strings in MMWaterSolversRes409.dll as follows.

In MMGxToolsRes409.dll, string #451, can be set to indicate the preferred length for the locale. Currently it is set to 33, which is the length of the NAME field for Stored Displays, Page Templates, Documents, and Packages (Map Books) tables in the sample data. When editing this field, remember that a Design map book uses a concatenation of the WorkRequestID and DesignID to create the map book name. If the concatenated name is longer than the length set in string #451, users will be unable to save the map book.
