Using Responder
Open Delta Transformer Support

The introduction of Outage Phase tracking on Loadpoints and subsequent improvements have led to Responder supporting Open Delta data scenarios. The data scenarios supported involve having fewer phases on upstream devices (e.g. Transformer and/or Conductor) than on downstream service locations. The support means that you can create faults at or upstream of these locations and see loadpoints get created as expected, and restorations of these faults will see loadpoints get restored and archived as normal. See below for some examples.

Data Scenarios:

  1. Two phase transformer with three phase primaries upstream of it and three phase secondaries downstream of it.  Service points are three phase as well.
  2. Two phase transformer with two phase primaries upstream of it and three phase secondaries downstream of it.  Service points are three phase as well.
  3. Single phase transformer with single phase primaries upstream of it and single phase secondaries downstream of it.  Service point is two phase.

In the data scenarios above, the following two workflows will yield proper creation and restoration of loadpoints (more complex scenarios function as well, but these are simplified cases for illustration):

  1. Create a fault on the transformer and then restore it.
  2. Create a fault upstream of the transformer and then restore it.
