Incident Management and Probable Status

The way in which an incident with a Probable status is treated during a roll-up depends on how the upstream incident is created. If the Prediction Engine makes a prediction and a Probable incident is downstream, the Probable incident is treated in the same manner as a Confirmed incident; i.e., it is not rolled into the upstream incident.

If a dispatcher manually places an incident on a device upstream from a Probable incident, the Probable incident is treated in the same manner as an Unconfirmed incident and rolled into the upstream incident.

In the following diagram, transformer xfr3 has an Unconfirmed incident. Xfr2 has a Probable incident. When an Unconfirmed incident is placed on xfr1, the Prediction Engine rolls the incidents on xfr1 and xfr3 up to the fuse. The Probable incident remains on xfr2. In this instance, the Probable incident is treated as a Confirmed incident. Only the load points on xfr1 and xfr3 are rolled up to the fuse (incident 6498).

In the diagram below, transformer xfr3 has a Confirmed incident. Xfr2 has a Probable incident. When the user manually places an incident on the Fuse, the Prediction Engine rolls the Probable incident to the fuse (as if it were Unconfirmed).
