Before a switching order may be executed, it must be assigned to an incident. When you have a switching order opened for editing, there is an option in the Order menu called Assign to Selected Incident. This option is enabled only if the currently open switching order has NOT been assigned to an incident. Be sure to select a confirmed incident in Responder Explorer before using Assign to Incident. The switching order will be assigned to the incident currently selected in Responder Explorer. This incident MUST be confirmed. This tool is disabled if the selected incident is unconfirmed or probable, or if you have multiple incidents selected.
When you assign a switching order to an incident, it is removed from the Switch Order Library.
