Configuring Responder
Multiple Services Warning: Reset Network. Could indicate network trashing...

Version: 10.2.1c and 10.2.1c SP3

Resource Center Home

After running Data Services, Line Display Services, or Prediction Services, you may notice a lot of paging or the process memory is growing too large. In addition, the following warning may appear on the Server Event Log:

Reset Network. Could indicate network thrashing. Try increasing NetworkResetValue. Defaults at 1 million edges.

To resolve this warning, change the threshold at which the network is reset. Follow the instructions below for any service that traces (Data, Line Display, and Prediction):

  1. Open the .config file for the service. The configuration files are installed here: Miner and Miner\Responder\Server.
  2. Locate the <appSettings> section within the configuration file.
  3. Insert the <add key="NetworkResetValue" value ="500000" /> within this section.
Replace the value of 500000 with any appropriate value for your needs. 500000 represents 500,000 edges. The default prior to adding this key is 1 million edges.
  4. Save and close the configuration files.
  5. Restart Services.
