Configuring Responder
Enable Internet Information Services (IIS)

Version: 10.2.1c and 10.2.1c SP3

Responder Web Server requires IIS features. The web server must have IIS enabled through Windows Features.

Windows 7

Windows Server 2008

Windows 7

  1. From the Windows Control Panel, select Programs.
  2. Select Turn Windows features on or off.

  1. Expand Internet Information Services.
  2. Select the checkboxes as indicated in the image below. This is the minimum requirement for Responder.

  1. Click OK.

Windows Server 2008

  1. From the Windows Control Panel, select Programs and Features.
  2. Click Turn Windows features on or off.
  3. Scroll down to the Features Summary section and click Add Features.

  1. Select the Web Server IIS Extension checkbox (or WinRM IIS if installing on a remote machine). The Add Features Wizard window opens.
  2. Click Add Required Role Services.

  1. On the left side of the window, select Role Services.
  2. Select the checkboxes for Web Server (Installed) as shown in the image below. This is the minimum requirement for Responder.

  1. Click Next.
  2. Click Install. The server might need to be restarted after the installation completes.
