Configuring Responder
ArcMap Remoting Configuration

Version: 10.2.1c and 10.2.1c SP3

Resource Center Home

The ArcMap Remoting configuration file (ArcMapRemotingConfig.xml) is provided with the Responder client installation. This file must be edited on each client machine to point to the machine that hosts the Responder Server. You may edit the file by opening it in an XML application (such as XML Spy) or by opening it in a simple text editing program (such as Notepad).

To configure ArcMapRemotingConfig.xml, follow the steps outlined below.

  1. Open ArcMapRemotingConfig.xml. By default, this file is installed here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Miner and Miner\Responder\Client.
  2. Look for the following XML:
Copy Code
        <channel ref="msmq" isServer="false" ComputerName="ServerName" />
  1. Modify the ComputerName attribute to be set to the name of the machine that hosts the Responder server. If you have Responder Server and Responder Client installed on the same machine, you can indicate the local machine using "." as the ComputerName value (e.g., ComputerName=".").
  2. Save and close ArcMapRemotingConfig.xml.
