Display Name Log
Because some custom Display Name Objects may take a long time to build and impact performance, ArcFM provides the Display Name Object log. This log is turned on and off by modifying a registry key. The log tells the user how long it takes for the custom display name object to build when it's used in ArcMap.
Create the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Miner and Miner\ArcFM8\PerformanceLogs key, if it doesn't exist.
If the IMMDisplayNamer string value does not exist, create it. The corresponding data for the value should include the complete path and filename to an existing file.
A valid path to a .log or .txt file turns on the log (as shown in the example above). Delete the value in this field to turn the log off.
With the log turned on, open ArcMap. ArcMap must be opened AFTER the log has been turned on.
In ArcMap, select a feature that uses a custom display name object (Transformer in the example below). A feature that uses a display name object must be displayed in a tree (e.g., Selection tab, Locator tool).
Select a feature in a different layer to finish with your selection of the feature with the display name object (Switching Facility in the example below).
Browse to and open the .log or .txt file to view the results.
