ArcFM Desktop > ArcFM > Water Tracing > Water Tracing Step 1: Create Water Domains |
There are several domains that may be created to work with Water Tracing. These domains provide the coded values for various functionality within Water Tracing.

Note for Cathodic Protection: Cathodic Protection traces recognize only the following values as non-conductive materials: CI, PVC, AC, WO and CL. If you elect to create a numeric domain, Cathodic Protection will recognize only 2, 3, 4, 6 and 9 as values corresponding to non-conductive material. You may edit the codes and values of this domain, however, only CI (2), PVC (3), AC (4), WO (6) and CL (9) will be recognized as non-conductive. All other values will be considered conductive.
For example, you could create the following domain with a long integer data type:
Water Line Material domain properties:
- Field Type = long integer
- Domain Type = Coded Values
- Split Policy = Duplicate
- Merge Policy = Default Value
