ArcFM Desktop Configuration Guide
UFM Step 2: Create Domain

Version: 10.2.1c and 10.2.1c SP3

Resource Center Home

Create the following domains. These may have been created during configuration of another ArcFM Solution tool. The coded values displayed are as they appear in the sample data. They may vary to suit your business needs.

Phase Designation

ArcFM requires that a phase be represented with one character. The domain description of a three-phase conductor has three letters or numbers (e.g., ABC or 123). However, the coded domain values must be single digits. The Minerville sample database uses integers 1 through 7 to describe the combination of phases as shown below.

ULS Size

This domain holds the various duct sizes. The following values are as they appear in the sample data. You may edit these values to reflect your business standards.

Code values must be whole numbers. No decimals nor negative integers are allowed, or data corruption could occur.
The Code value drives the size of the duct. For example, you might have a Code of 5, but the Description is 2". When the user places what they think is a 2-inch duct (by the description), they'll actually be placing a 5-inch duct (using the Code value). As the example depicts below, ensure that the Code value matches the Description value when setting up this domain.
