Bit settings for gas edges in the Minerville sample database:

25 |
Specifies whether or not an edge feature is traceable. A value of 0 means that the gas can flow through it; 1 means that it cannot. Bit 25 may be set in one of two ways.
All traces except the CP trace respect Bit 25. |
24 |
Specifies if an edge can be "pinched" to stop the flow of gas and depends on the field model name PIPETYPE. This is an unusual technique where a special device physically squeezes the pipe to interrupt the gas flow. The value of P means that the edge is pinchable, and the bit is set to 1. The value of NP means that it is not pinchable and the bit is set to 0. |
23 |
Specifies if the edge is a barrier to a cathodic protection trace; a non-bonded, plastic pipe can be an example of such an edge. This bit depends on the existence of three field model names: CPSYSTEMSTATUS, BONDEDINDICATOR, and MATERIAL. If CPSYSTEMSTATUS exists, the value of 1 is used to set the bit. If CPSYSTEMSTATUS does not exist or the value is 0, ArcFM then looks for BONDEDINDICATOR and uses the value of Yes to set the bit. If BONDEDINDICATOR does not exist or the value is No, ArcFM looks for MATERIAL and uses its field value to set the bit. If the material is conductive, it does not set the bit. If the material is non-conductive, then it sets the bit as a CP stop. |

These bits are interpreted as a 14-bit integer code that indicates the nominal operating pressure of the edge feature. The actual mapping of a particular pressure value onto a code value may differ from one utility to the next, and many applications that use the GasTraceWeight will not need to convert the code into an actual pressure. ArcFM does not currently populate or use these bits. While the ArcFM Gas Pressure Trace currently ignores these pressure codes, it relies instead on in/out pressures at junctions, such as regulators, to establish boudaries of a pressure zone. |
