ArcFM Desktop > ArcFM > Gas Tracing > Assign Model Names and AUs |
Use the ArcFM Properties Manager to assign model names. You may omit specific feature classes from Gas traces. To do this, assign the GASNONTRACEABLE model name to the Feature Class and the ArcFM Gas NonGas Trace Weight AU to the GasTraceWeight field of the feature class.
ControllableFitting and NonControllableFitting
Controllable Fitting and NonControllable Fitting features may participate in a Cathodic Protection trace. These feature classes are NOT required for the Cathodic Protection tracing to work (however, the DistributionMain feature class is required).
Model Names: CONTROLFITTING and/or NONCONTROLFITTING
Field Model Names:
One feature class can represent both control and noncontrol fitting types if your data model breaks this out at the subtype level. In this case, assign both model names to the feature class.

PIPETYPE
* The Valve Isolation trace reads the operating pressure from one of two places. If neither of these places is configured properly or a value doesn't exist, the Valve Isolation trace will fail. The operating pressure may be stored in a field on the pipe feature. In this case the OPERATINGPRESSURE model name must be assigned to this field. Alternatively, you can store the operating pressure in an Operating Pressure table that is related to the pipe feature class (e.g., DistributionMain). In this case the OPERATINGPRESSURE model name must be assigned to the Operating Pressure table, and the table must be related directly to the pipe feature.
SNAPPING: The SqueezeOff feature class snaps to DistributionMain. Use the PipeType field to indicate whether the pipe is pinchable. The SqueezeOff feature class and PipeType field are used by the Squeeze Off trace (NOT Valve Isolation).

*Assign the NORMAL POSITION field model name to the field that the Gas System and Valve Isolation traces should look at to determine whether the valve is opened or closed. For example, you may wish these traces to look at the Present Position field instead of the Normal Position field.
