ArcFM Server Developer Guide
Enable Licensing

Resource Center Home

ArcFM Server provides an option that allows you to enable or disable licensing for new map services. When the ArcFMMapServer option is enabled, an ArcFM Server license is retrieved each time the server process is started. The Server Object Extension (SOE) makes available licensed ArcFM Server functionality (e.g., MMModelNameManager, MMAutoupdater). If ArcFMMapServer is disabled, ArcFM functionality will be unavailable and you may experience licensing errors. Follow the steps below to enable the ArcFMMapServer option.

  1. In ArcCatalog, expand GIS Servers and the machine on which your service(s) reside.
  2. In order to modify the ArcFMMapServer option, the service must be stopped. Right-click the map service and select Stop.

  1. Right-click the stopped service and select Service Properties.
  2. On the Capabilities tab, scroll to the bottom of the list of checkboxes to find ArcFMMapServer.

  3. Select the ArcFMMapServer checkbox to enable. Uncheck it to disable.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Right-click the service and select Start.
