Authentication Exceptions

Following are some exceptions you may find in your event log if the authentication type on the client machine does not match the authentication type on the server.

Exception: The HTTP request is unauthorized with client authentication scheme 'Anonymous.' The authentication header received from the server was 'Negotiate,NTLM.'

This indicates that the server is configured with an authentication type of Windows, and the client is configured to use None.

Exception: There was no endpoint listening at https://pags.miner.com/SyncServiceDarlene/SyncService.svc that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details.

Inner Exception: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.

Authentication types are not configured consistently on the client and server machines. Modify the Web.config file on the server or change the Authentication field on the Mobile application's Settings tab (Task Service section).

Exception: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel with authority 'pags.'

"Pags" is the name of the machine on which the Mobile Service is running.

The machine name must match "Issued to" value from the certificate. Using the example below, the web service URL should be: https://PAGS.miner.com/SyncServiceDarlene/SyncService.svc.

Exception: The provided URL shceme 'http' is invalid; expected 'https.'

Modify the web service URL to use https instead of http.

Exception: The provided URL shceme 'https' is invalid; expected 'http.'

Modify the web service URL to use http instead of https.

Exception: The HTTP request is unauthorized with client authentication scheme 'Ntlm.' The authentication header received from the server was Negotiate,NTLM.'

Inner Exception: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.

Indicates an invalid user name or password.

Exception: The HTTP request is unauthorized with client authentication scheme 'Basic.' The authentication header received from the server was 'Basic realm="pags.miner.com".'

Inner Exception: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.

Indicates an invalid user name or password.
