Symptom: Stored displays or page templates are opening slowly.

Possible Cause: You have a large number, usually more than 500, or stored displays or page templates.

 If you do have a large number of items on either list, add an index to the GLOBALID field on the MM_STORED_DISPLAYS, MM_SYSTEM_STORED_DISPLAYS, MM_PAGE_TEMPLATES, or MM_SYSTEM_PAGE_TEMPLATES tables. Which table you change depends on which is causing the performance issue.

Adding the index to one of these tables might decrease performance if you have less than 500 items in the list.

To add an index, follow the steps below.

1. In ArcCatalog, right-click the table and click Properties.
2. Click Add.
3. Name the new attribute index, select Unique and the GLOBALID field.
4. Click OK.
5. Click Apply or OK.
