All ArcFM functionality is available to the field editor while editing in the field.
- Tracing: Trace tasks for electric, gas, and water may be performed in the field. However, remember that any features placed on the map are not part of the network and will not be considered in the trace.
-
Composite Favorites: There are two ways to create composite favorites in the field. With both methods, the composite favorite is stored in the ArcFM Mobile Login database. Because creating a composite favorite with a design open is more complex, creating composite favorites before opening a design is the recommended method.
- Create Composite Favorite with Backdrop Features: Start an editing session directly in ArcMap. Do not open a design or session. Select features in the backdrop and create a composite favorite as you would normally. Click the Composite Favorites link above for detailed instructions.
- Create Composite Favorite with Packet Features: With a session or design (Designer only) open, send the backdrop features to the Selection list. Now, you can create composite favorites using the standard procedures.
- Mass Attribute Update (ArcFM): This tool may be used in the field. In the Attribute Editor Selection tab, right-click the features and select Mass Attribute Update to run the Mass Attribute Update tool.
- Mass Attribute Update (Designer): This tool may be used in the field. First select the features to be updated. In the Attribute Editor Selection tab, right-click the features and select Send to Design. On the Design tab, run the Mass Attribute Update tool as usual.
- Work Function Tool: This tool may be used in the field in the same way as on the Enterprise. It is available only with Mobile Designer.
