Select Parcels

Resource Center Home

The Select Parcels step provides four tools that allow you to select a set of parcels to be included in your optimized layout. The selection set is displayed graphically on the map. The nodes in the selection set are also available in the Design Optimization tree. Right-click any item to access the available context menu tools (e.g., Remove, Highlight, Zoom To).

You may remove a parcel from the selection using the tools discussed below. You may also right-click the parcel in the tree and select Remove.

Use this tool to select parcels by drawing a polygon. Click to add vertices and double-click to close and finish the polygon. All parcels that fall entirely or partially within that polygon are selected on the map and added to the selection tree.

Use this tool to select parcels by drawing a rectangle. Click, hold and drag the cursor to draw a polygon. Release the mouse click to finish the rectangle. All parcels that fall entirely or partially within that polygon are selected on the map and added to the selection tree.

Add Parcels to Selected Set

You can add one or more parcels to an existing selected set before or after optimizing as described in the following steps:

  1. Use the Select Parcels tool to select the parcel that you wish to add to the selected set.
Note: The following example depicts selecting a single parcel, however you may select multiple parcels, if desired.
  2. Use Group Parcels to regroup the entire selected set including the new parcel.
  3. You can now run Optimize Secondary Circuits. The newly added parcel will be considered in the optimized results.
  4. To add additional parcels AFTER optimizing, first select the desired parcel(s) and then use Associate Parcel to New Transformer. You can associate one parcel to a new transformer at a time.

Note: Additional parcels cannot be added to the selected set after running Complete All.
