ArcFM Desktop Overview > ArcFM > Map Production > Manage Map Books and Map Sets > Manage Map Books |
The ArcFM Map Book Explorer allows you to open map books as well as plot, export, print to file, schedule plots, and create copies using a right-click menu. The Delete option appears only on top-level map books. If a map book has been scheduled to plot, a confirmation screen will warn of the scheduled plot and verify the delete.
Select the desired map book or map set in the Map Book Explorer and click Edit to open it in the Map Book Editor. If you select a map set, ArcMap displays the map set and any map books associated with the map set in the Map Book Editor. If you select a map book, ArcMap displays the selected map book, any map sets or map books beneath the map book, plus any other map books associated with the selected map book.
In the following example, the Water - 500 scale map set is selected for edit from the Map Book Explorer window. The Water Crew Maps map book and the Water - 500 scale map set are displayed in the Map Book Editor.
On the other hand, if you select the Water Crew Maps map book from the Map Book Explorer window, ArcFM displays the Field Maps map book (and all map books and map sets under the Field Maps map book) in the Map Book Editor, because it is associated with the Water Crew Maps book.
Use the type ahead search field at the bottom of the ArcFM Map Book Explorer window to locate map books and map sets.
Use Save Copy As to create map books and map sets from existing nodes. If you select a map book, Save Copy As creates a copy of the map book and all map sets within the map book. If you select a map set, Save Copy As will automatically create a map book (and create a name based on the map set) in addition to saving a copy of the selected map set.
