When you start an edit session that calls upon a Feeder Manager function, you will see the progress bar shown below. For rapid access, Feeder Manager caches the information that it needs for a given geometric network. The gathering of this information from the geodatabase incurs a certain amount of delay, and the purpose of a cache is to ensure that the delay occurs only once per ArcMap session. The cache is created the first time any part of it is needed by any Feeder Manager function.
