Cross Arm Loading

The Cross Arm tab allows you to add a cross arm framing to your support structure. This calculation evaluates the strength of the insulators, pins, and cross arms on the pole.

When cross arm calculations exceed their capacity, the fields are highlighted in red.

Designer compares the load of the wire/conductor to the strength of the insulator(s). If the load of the conductor exceeds the strength of the insulator(s), the Insulator box(es) are highlighted in red.
Designer compares the load of the wire/conductor to the strength of the pin(s). If the load of the conductor exceeds the strength of the insulator(s), the Pin box(es) are highlighted in red.

As you choose values in the Cross Arm Configuration field, the graphic on the right changes to reflect your selection.

Use the Save Pole Framing To Database button to save framing configurations. Once you save a framing and give it a name, it will be added to the Framings pulldown menu. The name may contain up to 33 characters. If you enter more than 33 characters, only the first 33 will be saved. The configurations will be available to the user who saved them. They are not available system-wide.
