Clearance Parameters

Resource Center Home

The Clearance Parameters allow you to analyze the amount of clearance necessary for a conductor. Designer uses clearance values to calculate the clearance results. If the results are less than 0, the conductor fails and is highlighted in red in the Conductors Grid. The default ArcFM install includes REA and NESC standards. The Clearance Parameters frame is available only on the Clearance tab.

  1. Select the Clearance tab.
  2. Enter a Clearance Standard.
  3. Select a Clearance Category.

Conductors that violate the clearance parameters appear in red text and are marked with a symbol.

You may also right-click a conductor and select REA Clearances or NESC Clearances. The resulting Clearance Standards window will display the span clearance for the conductor for each clearance category. Red text indicates the conductor violates that clearance parameter.
