ArcFM Desktop > ArcFM > Configure Display Name Object |
Custom display name objects allow you to include multiple attributes in the display name. If you have created a custom display name object (see ArcFM Solution Developer Online Help), it can be assigned to features or related objects on the Field Display tab of the ArcFM Solution Properties Manager. Select a custom display name object from the Display Name Object field. Any value selected in this field overwrites what is selected in the primary display field.
Designer Users: Compatible Units (CUs) in Designer may not use Display Name objects. However, the Design, Work Location, and Work Request feature classes may use display name objects. If a display name object is assigned to one of these fields, it will not be visible until the design is saved. |
Sample display name objects are available on the following feature/object classes with the ArcFM installation: CPSystem, DistributionMain, GasValve, Transformer, TransformerUnit. These samples require the following model names be assigned:

Assign Display Name Objects
Once you have created a custom display name object or configured the samples provided with the ArcFM install, the display name objects must be assigned.
When a custom display name object is registered in the correct category, it will appear in the Display Name Object field. Select a value from the Display Name Object pulldown menu. The example depicts selecting Valve Display Namer from the Display Name Object pulldown. This value overwrites what is selected in the Primary Display Field.
