ArcFM Tools in ArcCatalog
Import/Export Graphic

Resource Center Home

The ArcFM System Favorites Manager doesn't allow you to create or edit system graphics. They must be created and edited in ArcMap with an edit session started. You may import and export graphics using an XML file.

  1. In ArcCatalog, select the geodatabase.
  2. Right-click and select ArcFM Favorites or click the Favorites button on the ArcFM Solution toolbar.
  3. Select the Graphics tab.
  4. Right-click anywhere on the tab and select Export or Import.

The graphics available in a geodatabase are not displayed on the Graphics tab. However, if you select export, ALL graphics in the geodatabase are exported to an XML file. You may not exclude particular graphics from the export. This functionality will be available in a future release.

  5. If you are importing, browse to the XML file that contains the import information and click Open. Upon completion, a dialog box will display the number of graphics successfully imported. If graphics already exist in the Graphics tool before import, the pre-existing graphics are removed and the new graphics imported.
  6. If you are exporting, browse to the directory in which you wish to store the XML file and click Save.

Graphics are stored in the MM_SYSTEM_PERSIST_INFO table in the geodatabase.
