Create Subtype

ArcMap must be closed to create a new subtype.
In the ArcCatalog tree, right-click the feature class for which you want to create the subtype and select Properties.
At the Subtypes tab, enter the next number in the subtypes integer sequence and type the subtype name in the adjacent field.
Click OK. Close ArcCatalog to add the new subtype to the Table of Contents.
