The value in the field that has this model name assigned is used to calculate the fiber optic cable length. The calculation that takes place depends on what you have selected as the source of the cable length (the field to which the SHEATHLENGTHSOURCE field model name is assigned):
- If the length source is set to "Documents/Field Notes," then the field notes value is multiplied by the twist factor to populate the cable length field.
- If the length source is set to "OTDR Length," then the field notes value is not multiplied by the twist factor to populate the cable length field. For this option to operate properly, you must add "OTDR Length" as both the code and description in the coded values table belonging to the domain that represents the fiber optic cable length source.

Object must be a linear feature in the fiber network. This goes on the field which shows the glass length (autocalculated)GLOBALID
Assign this model name to the field that contains a unique number (GUID) that is generated and maintained by ArcGIS. This value is used for all relationships in the ArcFM data model and is required for Fiber Manager to function properly.
MODETYPE
Assign this model name to the field that designates whether the particular object or feature, such as a fiber strand, is a singlemode or multimode strand.
Additional Information for Flexible Data Models:
Required for objects or features using the ArcFM Fiber Availability autoupdater.MULTIMODEAVAILABILITYINDICATOR
Assign this model name to the field that is used to sum the number of available multimode strands (or other type of objects) with a feature, such as a fiber optic cable.
NUMBEROFCOLUMNS
Assign this model name to the field that contains the number of columns in the patch panel.
NUMBEROFPORTCOLUMNS
Assign this model name to the field that contains the number of columns on the patch panel card.
NUMBEROFPORTROWS
Assign this model name to the field that contains the number of rows on the patch panel card.
NUMBEROFSTRANDS
Assign this model name to the field that contains the number of strands in the fiber optic cable.
Additional Information for Flexible Data Models:
Object must be a linear feature in the fiber network. This goes in an integer field indicating the total number strands (for glass report).OVERHEADUNDERGROUND
Assign this model name to the field that indicates whether the fiber optic cable has been installed in an overhead or underground environment.
Additional Information for Flexible Data Models:
Object must be a linear feature in the fiber network. It is assigned to a field with the fiber domain for "Overhead Underground."POINTLENGTH
Assign this model name to the field that stores the length of the cable that travels vertically along the pole as it changes from an overhead cable to an underground cable. In the sample data, this field appears on the TransitionPoint feature class.
Additional Information for Flexible Data Models:
Object must be a linear feature in the fiber network. It is assigned to an integer field which indicates the length taken up in this point (risers, slackloops, etc.PORTNUMBER
Assign this model name to the field that contains the number of a port (e.g., DevicePort, FrontsidePort, SplitterInputPort).
PORTPOSITIONONCARD
Assign this model name to the field that is used to hydrate ports in the proper position on a patch panel card in Fiber Manager and on reports.
PORTTYPE
Assign this model name to the field that contains the type of port (e.g., DevicePort, SplitterInputPort).
SCHEMATICEXPORTATTRIBUTE
This is an optional model name used to configure Fiber Manager data to use schematics.
Additional Information for Flexible Data Models:
Assigned to any field on a fiber object which should be exported into the schematics report.SEGMENTGLASSLENGTH
Assign this model name to the field that contains the segment length of a piece of glass within the fiber optic cable.
Additional Information for Flexible Data Models:
Object must be a linear feature in the fiber network assigned to the field which shows the segment glass length. Segments correspond to the linear features. Total length ignores features with the model name TransitionPoint.SEGMENTLENGTH
Assign this model name to the field that contains the segment length of the fiber optic cable.
Additional Information for Flexible Data Models:
Object must be a linear feature in the fiber network assigned to the field which shows the segment length. Segments correspond to the linear features. Total length ignores features with the model name TransitionPoint.SHEATHID
Assign this model name to the field used as a unique identifier for the sheath. In the sample data this model name is assigned to the CableName field on the FiberOpticCable layer.
Additional Information for Flexible Data Models:
Object must be a linear feature in the fiber network assigned to the name field.SHEATHLENGTH
Assign this model name to the field that contains the length of the fiber optic cable.
Additional Information for Flexible Data Models:
Object must be a linear feature in the fiber network. Assign this to the length field.SHEATHLENGTHSOURCE
Assign this model name to the field on the FiberOpticCable that denotes the method for determining how the length was collected.
Additional Information for Flexible Data Models:
Object must be a linear feature in the fiber network. Assign this to the length source field with the Fiber Optic Cable Length Source domain.SHEATHTYPE
Assign this model name to the field that contains the type of fiber optic cable.
Additional Information for Flexible Data Models:
Object must be a linear feature in the fiber network. Assign this to the type field.SINGLEMODEAVAILABILITYINDICATOR
Assign this model name to the field on the feature that is used to sum the number of available singlemode strands (or other objects) within the feature.
SLOTPOSITION
Assign this model name to the field that designates the slot position on the patch panel card.
SPLICETYPE
Assign this model name to the field that contains the splice type on the Fiber Connection Object.
STARTFOOTSTAMP
Assign this model name to the field that holds the length measurement value that is stamped on one end of a fiber optic cable. The absolute value between the value in this field and the value on the ENDFOOTSTAMP field equals the actual length of the fiber optic cable.
SYMBOLROTATION
This model name is assigned to a field on point feature classes that indicates the angle by which the feature is rotated when it is placed on the map.
THISFIBERCLASSMODELNAME
This model name identifies the field that stores the model name of the current object. This is essential to the flexible data model and allows Fiber Manager to traverse an unknown object hierarchy. This field will also need to have an Esri Default value set for this field. For instance, the BufferTube object class will have a value of "BUFFERTUBE" set to this field.
TRAYNUMBER
Assign this model name to the field that stores the value for the tray in which a particular splice occurs. In the sample data this field is found on the FiberConnectionObject.
TWISTFACTOR
Assign this model name to the field that contains the manufacturer’s published twist factor for the glass strands within a fiber optic cable.
Additional Information for Flexible Data Models:
Object must be a linear feature in the fiber network. Assign this to the field which holds the twist factor.
