Appendix > Gas Distribution Data Model Overview > Pipes and Maintenance Overview > DistributionMain |
Version: 10.1 |
Natural gas is carried in either mains or service pipes. Generally mains distribute gas from a distribution point to points adjacent to customer premises (town border stations). Service pipes distribute gas from mains to meter locations. The pipes installed for a main or a service are physically very similar. Utilities take measures such as using coatings and cathodic protection to protect pipe from corrosion.
The DISTRIBUTIONMAIN model name is used for Gas and Cathodic Protection tracing. GASNETWORKEDGE is used to configure gas tracing in ArcFM Viewer for ArcGIS Engine. Assign GASNETWORKEDGE to all Gas Network Edge feature classes that participate in gas tracing. The PIPE model name is used in configuring gas valve diameters for tracing and valve isolation purposes. The SPLITTARGET model name is used with several autoupdaters that split conductor features.
DistributionMain acquires properties from the GasPipe abstract class.
