Framings The options listed in the Framings drop-down box are imported from ArcFM System Tables. Each user can save a particular framing configuration using the Save Pole Framing To Database button. Cross Arm Configuration The values in the Cross Arm Configuration drop-down box are imported from the MMENG_XARM_CONFIG table. When calculating Cross Arm strength Designer uses the corresponding values from the MMENG_XARM_CONFIG table for: number of wires, whether it is a dead-end case, and attachment distance from cross arm bolt. Cross Arm The values in the Cross Arm drop-down box are imported from the MMENG_XARM table. When calculating Cross Arm strength Designer uses the corresponding values from the MMENG_XARM table for: bending strength, vertical dimension, horizontal dimension, and bolt diameter. Designer uses the following formulas to calculate the maximum moment on the cross arm. For HORZ (Dead End) Case: MAX ALLOWED HORZ MOM = FIB STRESS * SEC MOD HORZ SEC MOD HORZ = ((DIMV - BOLTDIAM) * (DIMH)2 / (6 * 12) For VERT Case: MAX ALLOWED VERT MOM = FIB STRESS * SEC MOD VERT SEC MOD VERT = (DIMV3 - BOLTDIAM3) * (DIMH) / (6 * DIMV * 12) Designer uses the following formulas to calculate the actual moment on the cross arm. For HORZ (Dead End) Case: MAX ACTUAL MOM = OCF * ((MAX COND TENS1 * ATT1) + (MAX COND TENS2 * ATT2) + (MAX COND TENS3 * ATT3) + (MAX COND TENS4 * ATT4)) For VERT Case: WT SPAN = (SPAN1 + SPAN2) / 2 MAX ACTUAL MOM = OCF * (WT SPAN1 * COND_WEIGHT_PER_FT1 * ATT1) + (WT SPAN2 * COND_WEIGHT_PER_FT2 * ATT2) + (WT SPAN3 * COND_WEIGHT_PER_FT3 * ATT3) + (WT SPAN4 * COND_WEIGHT_PER_FT4 * ATT4) If the actual moment exceeds the maximum allowable moment, the Cross Arm drop-down box is highlighted in red. Insulator (phase) / Insulator (neutral) The values in the Insulator drop-down boxes are imported from the MMENG_INSULATORSTRENGTH table. Designer uses the WORKINGSTRENGTH when comparing the load of the wire/conductor to the strength of the insulator(s). If the load of the conductor exceeds the strength of the insulator(s), the box(es) are highlighted in red. Pin (phase) / Pin (neutral) The values in the Insulator drop-down boxes are imported from the MMENG_PINSTRENGTH table. Designer uses the WORKINGSTRENGTH when comparing the load of the wire/conductor to the strength of the pin(s). If the load of the conductor exceeds the strength of the pin(s), the field(s) are highlighted in red. Configuration Image The images that appear on the right side of the Cross Arm window are linked to a specific Cross Arm Configuration. Designer uses the value in the Cross Arm Configuration to import the corresponding image name listed in the IMAGENAME field of the MMENG_XARM_CONFIG table. If an image name is listed Designer will attempt to load it from <ArcFM install directory>\Program Files (x86)\Miner and Miner\ArcFM Solution\bin\Graphics. If a path and name is provided, Designer will load the image from that location. If no image name appears or the image name is invalid, or the image path is invalid, Designer will load a default image. |
