Design Ruling Span

The values in the Design Ruling Span drop-down box are populated by reading unique values for the RULINGSPAN field in the MMENG_CONDTENSION table. This value is used to locate conductor tension, sag, and weight/ft data in the MMENG_CONDTENSION table. The data are used to calculate Wind Moment on Pole, Total Bending Moment, and Total Transverse Load on Pole (see Poles section).

Angle

The value entered in the Angle text box will be used in the pole strength calculations as listed above.

Span 1 Length / Span 2 Length

Using the Span Length Tool two adjacent span can be measured in the Design. Span lengths can be updated by typing values directly into the text boxes. The span lengths are used in the Pole calculations.

Conductors Grid

The Conductors Grid displays conductors if they were selected when the Structural Analysis tool was launched. Any number of conductors can also be added to the Conductors Grid by clicking the Add button. Each conductor record in the grid will be used in pole strength and guying calculations if its box is checked.
